Since e-cigarettes have not emerged for a long time in China, they have not been included in the scope of supervision, resulting in the barbaric growth of the e-cigarette industry. Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Tobacco Monopoly Administration have studied and drafted the Decision on Revising the Regulations on the Implementation of the Law on Tobacco Monopoly of the People's Republic of China (Draft for Comments), adding a clause as Article 65 in the supplementary provisions: "E-cigarettes and other new tobacco products shall be implemented with reference to the relevant provisions on cigarettes in these Regulations."
According to the regulator, in recent years, new situations and problems have emerged in the market supervision of e-cigarettes and other new tobacco products, attracting great attention from all sectors of society. The implementation of e-cigarettes and other new tobacco products in accordance with the relevant provisions on cigarettes in the Implementation Regulations will greatly improve the supervision efficiency of e-cigarettes, effectively regulate the production and business activities of e-cigarettes, solve the product quality and safety risks, false advertising and other problems of e-cigarettes, and effectively protect the legitimate rights and interests of consumers.
Although e-cigarettes will be regulated, one thing is important to remember: smoking is bad for your health.
